Gregory Germain
December 30, 1961 – January 1, 2025

Greg was born on December 30, 1961 to Everett and Lois Germain in Falls Church, VA. He grew up with five siblings and graduated from Jeb Stuart High School in 1980 before attending Old Dominion University where he played soccer and majored in Business Administration. Greg married the love of his life, Suzy Cobb, on March 11, 1989. Greg was a proud father and cherished his three children Katie, Sarah, and Billy.
Greg enjoyed traveling to national parks, spending time with family at Bethany Beach, and cheering on the Washington Commanders. He worked in the insurance business for 40 years, first with Prudential and then as an independent agency owner with Nationwide. Greg also served as a board member with the Annandale Boys & Girls Club and ran their much-loved annual Christmas Tree Lot fundraiser. His favorite past-time was soccer, which brought many friendships playing for the ABGC Red Wings, amazing trips around the world, his glory days at ODU, and introduced him to a firecracker defender Suzy Cobb. Together, they would coach all of their kids’ teams and be their biggest supporters on and off the field.
Those left to honor Greg’s legacy include his wife Suzy Cobb Germain, daughter Katie (Andy) Whitman and grandkids (Mae, Will & Jack), daughter Sarah (Mike) Showak and grandkids (Calvin & Jane), son Billy (Kristen Hill) Germain, brother Rusty (Radha) Germain, sister Julie (Jeff) Thompson, and many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, friends, and teammates.
Greg was preceded in death by his father Everett Germain Jr., mother Lois (McCann) Germain, brother Kevin Germain, sister Betsy Cary, and brother Kip Germain.
