Ann Germain Receives Award



Ann Orrison Germain has been awarded the Adele Dolansky Service Award. This is the highest award bestowed on a Virginia Youth Soccer Association member. It is in recognition of exemplary service to the soccer playing youth of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia. 

Ann played for the USWNT and advanced to the unofficial World Cup Final in 1986. For ABGC, she lost in the Final of the 1989 National Amateur Cup, won three National O30 Championships and was named MVP in 1993. She coached top teams including a VYSA State Championship team featuring Washington Spirit player Anna Heilferty. She coached Marshall High School, and has coached and administered with the VYSA Olympic Development Program for many years.

Ann's McLean team was the first USA  team to win the Gothia Cup in Sweden in 1978. She captained and starred at Langley High School. She won an O40 National Championship. She was an assistant coach at Langley High School for over 20 years.

Ann is spearheading a new soccer program for the ABGC for the 2-3 year old age group starting in April of this year.  Registration will be available for that soon.  We are honored to have Ann Germain as part of the ABGC and are proud of her accomplishments.
