Congratulations to Kavoris Joseph, an outstanding player at South Tangi Youth Soccer Association (STYSA) on his recent achievements. As most of you know, Kavoris (KJ) is a Senior and plays soccer at Hammond High School. He was recently selected by the Louisiana High School Coaches Association (LHSCA) and the Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association (LHSSCA) to the 2017 Boys’ East All - Star Soccer Team. The All - Star game will be held Friday, February 24, at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans.
KJ has also played soccer for the Louisiana Olympic Development Program (ODP) for many years as well. This year, KJ was selected as one of three Louisiana players for the Region III ODP team that competed against teams from the other three regions of US Youth Soccer from November 30 through December 4, in Florida.
At the end of this ODP Event, KJ was then selected as the only Louisiana player to be part of the Region III ODP Team International Tour to Lisbon, Portugal. The tour is scheduled from March 27 to April 4. The trip will include games against top youth programs and attendance at a professional match.
Finally, KJ has received soccer scholarships from various universities. Wherever he chooses to attend, the STYSA program, Hammond High School, the City of Hammond, and the State of Louisiana will be well represented.
