ABGC teams delivered a fantastic performance at this year’s Herndon All-Star Cup, showing grit, skill, and more than a little ABGC heart. Across 16 age-gender groups, 25 ABGC squads entered the knockout rounds, competing in 20 brackets, and we came away with standout results.

Overall Placement Highlights

• 6 of 20 teams (30%) finished in the top 3, with 3 First-Place finishes and 3 Second-Place finishes.

• 3 teams placed 1st or 2nd in the NVSC Classic Tournament

• Two of those runner-up finishes came down to penalty kicks, proving just how tight the competition was.

• Our weighted average placement was 47%, a strong overall showing across all divisions.

Tier Breakdown

• Upper Tier: 10 teams advanced. Results included one 1st, one 2nd (lost in PKs), several close 3rd-place finishes, and multiple 3rd-place standings.

• Middle Tier: 2 teams advanced, both finishing 3rd.

• Lower Tier: 10 teams advanced, earning two 1st, two 2nd, and three 3rd places.

• Only 5 of our 21 recorded teams finished 4th or lower, which is proof that our athletes showed up ready to compete at every level.

Club Comparison Snapshot

• Among all participating clubs, ABGC landed in the top tier with three First-Place finishes, right alongside FPYC and SYC. Only SYA (5) and BRYC (4) topped that count.
