The All-Star Tournament is normally a month-long tournament, featuring all-star teams from each region in Area 10E (Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Agoura/Westlake, and Malibu), but two of the weekends were rained out this year. Region 42 sent ten teams across all divisions and in the shortened period, three of them brought trophies home. Congratulations to all our players and coaches for their efforts and successes!
In pool play, each of our teams was able to win at least one of their four games. The Girls U12 A team was dominant as usual, outscoring their opponents 27–1. They continued that dominance in the knockout rounds, defeating Malibu 4–0, Moorpark 5–0, and Agoura 3–0 to win first place.
The Boys U10A team also won all four of their pool games, but took the second seed despite having the same point total as Thousand Oaks A as they lost on the tiebreaker. Regardless, they were able to defeat Agoura B 7–0, Agoura A 5–1, and Thousand Oaks A 4–2 to take the first-place trophy.
The Girls U10A team suffered only one defeat in pool play (to our B team) to earn the third seed. In the knockout rounds, they got their revenge on our B team, winning 5–0, then squeaked past Simi Valley A 3–2, before succumbing to Agoura A 0–4. However, a second-place finish will still earn them an invitation to the Section 10 All-Star Tournament in Bakersfield at the end of February.
